Thanks for the memories!

It is time for me to face the music and shut the doors of Knús Eco-friendly Tango Clothing. It has been an exciting journey and I thank you all, customers and interested parties, for sharing the experience and helping to make it a reality. Various factors have led me to make this decision - difficulty in getting consistent supplies in small quantities plus the high cost of shipping and traveling and local taxes made it not really economically feasible. I have learned a lot - about starting and running a business, about clothing design and fabrics, about the clothing industry and where it stands concerning environmental issues. I have traveled to many tango festivals and events and had a great deal of fun! So no regrets. And hopefully, I have managed to spread a little bit of enlightenment about our purchasing choices and creating a sustainable world.

 On to other projects!

And remember...the rest of my stock is 50% off!

ps...there is a chance that I will create a second line of Knús men's trousers in linen if there is enough interest. Please enquire if you'd like to receive updates about this.

Summer Sale!

Here it is June already, and you haven't heard a peep from me in the last few months. Yes, I admit I haven't been properly nurturing the Knús project lately...I've actually gone and gotten myself a day job - yay! But that leaves so little time and energy on the side. So...I thought why not stir up some activity here and have a sale! Really, it's a much better idea to have these awesome organic and eco-friendly items on your back enhancing your tango experience and not sitting here on a shelf in my spare bedroom doing nothing. So here it is, the first Knús eco-friendly tango sale! 30% off while supplies last! Also, I want to take this opportunity to thank the men for the especially great reception to the tango marathon trousers. They have been so popular, but the downside is that I have very few pieces left! This is in part because of the difficulty in obtaining the high-quality fabrics. It seems like every time I order a fabric that I really like, it runs out at the distrubutor or becomes discontinued by the manufacturer. Not sure what the future of this will be, but I do know that I don't want to compromise on quality and the original Knús vision. Stay tuned!

Men's trousers - what size?

Jeans normally come in waist sizes in inches (30, 32, 34, etc) and Knús tango marathon trousers are made to roughly correspond to that (fitting a little bit loosely). Now, where things get tricky is the general assumption that a size 32 actually measures 32 inches. Which is wrong! Understandable that people would be confused on that point, after all it is *called* size 32. It gets even more complicated when you learn that some brands of trousers give a more generous meaning to the concept "size 32" than others. Hence my use of "roughly correspond". Luckily, when someone has told me they wear a size 32 jeans, my Knús trousers magically seem to fit. Usually. If you're in doubt, you may want to be daring and get out the tape measure and measure your actual waistline and I'll find the matching pair - but don't be shocked, I've warned you! In case you don't believe me, I have referenced this highly scientific article from Esquire to back me up. If you're sensitive about your waistline, you may find this a bit of a depressing read, but on the other hand, it does tell you what brands to look for to most comfortably keep bluffing yourself.

Celebrate Hemp on 4/20

It probably did not escape your attention that April 20th has been designated the day of weed, so I thought it would be fitting to point out that the cannabis plant has other amazing uses besides blowing your mind to kingdom come. Such as, of course, being turned into the fiber that would become Knús Tango Marathon Trousers! That's right, the original Knús men's trousers are made from a blend containing hemp - a low THC strain of cannabis sativa. Hemp is a top choice fiber in terms of being eco-friendly - it is extremely fast growing, has a large yield per area of land, and needs very little (none if certified organic) pesticides and herbicides. The fabric made from hemp is strong and durable, breathable and gets softer with use - like a nice broken-in pair of jeans. The hemp fabric chosen for Knús trousers is blended with Tencel, which gives it a nice drape that moves with you. Long lasting, comfortable and sustainable - perfect!
